Liberal Party 'resistance slate' for 2019 an INSULT to the intelligence of Filipino voters

These are the members of this so-called "resistance slate": Bam Aquino, Chel Diokno, Erin Tañada, Gary Alejano, Barry Gutierrez, Agot Isidro. It's a bunch of faces and names but, as usual, no underlying platform to define what it is exactly these bozos stand for and what alternative pathway they plan to pitch to the Filipino voter.

Nonetheless this "news" of the latest LP "achievement" was given airtime by ABS-CBN and, of course, Yellowtard newsletter Rappler...

[Liberal Party (LP) president senator Francis Pangilinan] said the once-ruling party would be forming a "broad coalition" for the 2019 polls and is talking to groups, including long-time LP ally Akbayan, the Magdalo Group, the anti-Duterte Tindig Pilipinas, and civic organization Kaya Natin. 
During the same interview, Pangilinan said the party has not been in talks with actress and former presidential sister Kris Aquino for an elective post. He also said that defeated 2016 presidential candidate Mar Roxas, the former LP president, has already thumbed down a 2019 run.

As one can easily see, none of the above passes the So What? Test.

What does all that "news" actually mean for the Filipino? The LP actually insult Filipino voters' intelligence by suggesting that they should be happy with a list of names by and of itself. That's just being incredibly presumptuous.

The sound of a #Tagalog convo: 'like chickens and hens cackling in unison'

While I'm not sure the language should totally go the way Latin did, one can't deny the limited use of Tagalog. As it is now, a sentence can't be done without two or three borrowed words in English which makes it redundant in academia. Somehow you gotta address the technical jargon but there really is no equivalent to it in Tagalog so the English term just ends up jammed in between the local vernacular. Nevermind the fact that reading Tagalog online is cringey no matter who wrote it. Add the fact that it just doesn't sound pleasing to the ear. Normal conversation with Tagalog is like chickens and hens cackling in unison to the uninitiated. It's the peasants' language through and through. ------------ This is a GRP Featured Comment. But "Pwede na yan attitude" (this will do) is a clear sign of FILIPINO MEDIOCRITY – being happy & contented with a none bearing win instead of winning all 4. Jose Rizal never had Tagalog in mind when he encouraged us to love our own language

Posted by a certain Chloe Santiago on the Facebook GRP Community Group : Jose Rizal died in 1896 and Tagalog was declared the official language of the Philippine only in 1937. This can only mean that Rizal wasn't really talking about Tagalog when he made this statement: "He who does not love his own language is worse than an animal and smelly fish." Indeed. Who made the arbitrary directive to make the Tagalog dialect the "National Language" to begin with? Furthermore, why have a "National Language" when Filipinos are already proficient in the global lingua franca of commerce and scientific achievement?
