#Filipinos fail to ingrain good manners and right conduct at all levels

As the old saying says: "right education begins at home".

Based on personal observation on many families (middle and lower class segments) in different parts of the country during my travels, obviously this is not happening. Actually it's in contrast.

Perhaps based on this personal observation this is the obvious evidence of prevalent and nauseating corruption, brazen wiliness and deceptive practices in the government.

The saddest part of all is that "good manners right conduct" is not even given appropriate emphasis in school to supplement shortfall of virtuous parenting in most middle and lower class families of the country.

Having said this, what kind of hope awaits the future of this country?

How the men and women of the Duterte govt implemented FOI against all odds

As a government official serving the Duterte administration, I'd like to share my 5 month work experience, so that you guys get a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes. After the President signed the EO on FOI, he instructed the PCOO to oversee implementation.  There was no budget for FOI in the 2016 GAA. (None also for 2017 because the previous admin prepared next year's budget) There was also no personnel whatsoever for a project monitoring office.  And we were given only 120 days to implement the program. Let me repeat. No money. No people. And very little time. But we did it. Because the president told us to do so. We scraped for funds here and there. We asked for technical assistance from other agencies like DICT and DBM. We convinced people to volunteer for FOI. And we worked hard, day in, day out. With what we had, we conducted more than a dozen FOI workshops, drafted model FOI manuals, printed FOI forms, launched a working FOI website, and had 95%

According to certain "progressive" groups like Computer Professionals' Union, Filipinos are living in times of "repression and tyranny". As such, Filipinos need to take heed of a paranoid delusional set of security tips published on their Facebook page . Of course , this is because, they assert... Since rising to power as President of the Republic, PRRD’s term has been characterized by an escalating kill count in the name of a bloody War on Drugs [1], the decimation of the city of Marawi [2], continuous attacks on the judiciary and system of checks and balances in government [3], and a general flouting of the rule of law in the name of strongman rule. As such, the "security tips" they prescribe are designed to prevent sinister state forces from spying on Filioinos' private digital communications and activities. This is nice if not rather quaint. One wonders whether this is truly a "union" of "computer professionals"

Democracy and Misinformation conference at Ateneo de Manila Rockwell campus: What are the expected RESULTS? #FactsMatterPH

How can you have a balanced discussion on #FactsMatterPH in the Philippines when you convene such an inbred bunch of "resource persons" in an uppity university campus and have the event streamed by suspect corporate media organisations?? Apparently anything is possible when you are as thick as the organisers of the the so-called conference on "Democracy and Disinformation (Why 'fake news' and other forms of disinformation threaten our freedoms and how to fight back)". The conference will be held Monday and Tuesday this week at the chi-chi Ateneo de Manila campus in Makati City. As can be seen in the poster above, the attendee list consists of familiar names -- names associated with the same clique of media oligarchs, discredited "joirnalists", and liberal activists allied with the Liberal Party led by the Old Guard of "influencers" loyal to the Aquino-Cojuangco feudal clan that lorded over the Philippines from their ivory tower
