Here's why TAMBAY youth should be rounded up by the police...

The tambay are symptoms of a lazy and unimaginative society. Worse they are affronts to discipline. There is no excuse for youthful able-bodied people hanging around in a street corner doing nothing.

Kilala sa bayan, asal ay gahaman
Malakas sa inuman, istorbo sa daan
Meron pa kayang pag-asang magbago
Ang taong lumaki sa layaw?

If there is no paid work to be done, there will always be volunteer work to do. Volunteer work allows a young person to acquire skills and experience and provides him or her an ethic of commitment to completing tasks and taking responsibility. Hanging around doing nothing does nothing to or for anyone.

Sobra sa bigat, hindi na mabuhat
Sobra sa tamad, laging hubad
Hindi na n'ya mapigilan ang kanyang mga bisyo
Kaya ang bagsak niya'y sa kalaboso.

It is ironic that the so-called "liberals" of the Philippine Opposition are opposed to rounding up tambays. These are, after all, a partisan clique that believes the state should take over where personal initiative fails. The tambay encapsulates a failure of personal initiative. And this is why the state needs to step in and act on the tambay infestation in Philippine society.

    No, I don't agree with this. We certainly don't need a failed government to tell people how to behave and force them to do anything. That would be a very bad government and place to live.

So Sass Rogando Sasot posted a reaction on her FB page to defend Andanar : Regarding the GRP Short article on Andanar being suspected as a “mole.” Ang premise nila eh si Andanar eh walang ginagawa to protect the “international image” of the president. FYI, in order for you to counter the PR of those who would like to bring down Duterte, you need to spend A LOT OF MONEY for international PR. Mahal po ang international PR. Si Duterte po ang ayaw gumastos for international PR. Yup, Duterte is not like PNoy’s admin who spent a filthy amount of tax payer’s money for international PR. I think someone on Get Real Post already pointed out before that Sasot is book-smart but lacks common sense. We see proof of that once again here. “Youth is wasted on the young”, they used to say. If you send your daughter or son, to universities, like the University of the Philippines. You send him or her, to learn about the subjects, of the field, he/she is hoping to finish and graduate. Not waste his/her time on bankrupt political ideologies like communism. The sound of a #Tagalog convo: 'like chickens and hens cackling in unison'

While I'm not sure the language should totally go the way Latin did, one can't deny the limited use of Tagalog. As it is now, a sentence can't be done without two or three borrowed words in English which makes it redundant in academia. Somehow you gotta address the technical jargon but there really is no equivalent to it in Tagalog so the English term just ends up jammed in between the local vernacular. Nevermind the fact that reading Tagalog online is cringey no matter who wrote it. Add the fact that it just doesn't sound pleasing to the ear. Normal conversation with Tagalog is like chickens and hens cackling in unison to the uninitiated. It's the peasants' language through and through. ------------ This is a GRP Featured Comment.
