HSBC to lay off 30,000 over ten years

Banking giant HSBC faces challenge of keeping morale up among staff as shareholders cheers strategy that may involve reducing the workforce by 30,000 over the next ten years.

Also at stake are "survivors" of this purge who may go on to suffer "survivor's guilt" syndrome.
