Art is a matter if opinion while religion is a matter of simple obedience

All regard for art is a matter of *opinion*. One man's art is another man's eyesore. If bad taste was a crime, then te police should go out and roundup jeepney designers and jolog fashionistas tomorrow and throw them all in jail. Religious zealots being themselves subject to dogma and texts that are de facto not subject to critical review will always FAIL to appreciate open debate and fair exchange of views on most controversial subjects.

The oh-so-noble journalists are at it again, this time, with Duterte’s Hitler comment. I am no Duterte fanatic. I criticize him more scathingly than anyone when his mouth is out of line. But this time, Duterte really didn’t say anything wrong. The real culprits behind the fuss over his Hitler comment are Karen Lema and Manuel Mogato, two Filipino reporters of the Reuters news agency, who wrote this article: “ Philippines’ Duterte likens himself to Hitler, wants to kill millions of drug addicts ”. Lema and Mogato are Filipinos. There’s no way they could have misunderstood what Duterte really meant in his speech. I watched the video and this is what the President said: “Hitler massacred 3 million Jews. There are 3 million drug addicts. I’d be happy to slaughter them. At least, if Germany had Hitler, the Philippines would have ….. my victims, all criminals, to finish a problem of my country, and save the next generation.” (See for yourself here . Leni Robredo betrays Filipinos in another interview for TIME Magazine!

It’s not just Leni Robredo’s video to the UN that makes her guilty of betrayal of public trust. She also gave an interview to Time magazine that was published around the same time as the release of her UN video, the filing of the impeachment against President Duterte, and the announcement of the EU Parliament’s resolution. You still want us to believe this is all just a coincidence, Leni? Maybe your masters left you out of the planning because you are just a puppet, but they were definitely coordinating their moves. Note that in the Time interview, Leni makes the Philippines sound like a chaotic, dangerous place with a total breakdown of law and order, such that international organizations need to intervene. She also undermines the integrity of the Philippine judiciary by telling the world that Leila de Lima’s arrest (which was ordered by the court) was politically motivated and basically illegal. Did former President Fidel Ramos order Duterte to work with Leni Robredo?

President Duterte offering Leni Robredo the housing appointment feels forced, both by FVR and the Yellow people. I find it exceedingly worrisome that Duterte said he takes his orders from FVR.  That is NOT a good sign, believe me.  Remember it was FVR who told Duterte that he and the immorally proclaimed VP ought to work together. If you think about FVR's known history and track record, that would just be a hint of why this alliance is a very problematic one for the nation.  Moreover, even if President Duterte gave Robredo a Cabinet post, that still doesn't erase the reality of massive ELECTORAL FRAUD that got her her immoral proclamation.  Millions of Filipinos don't believe she is the rightful VP and having successfully pressured Duterte to offer her a Cabinet post will not change that reality. ------------------- Victoria V. Over 100M-peso cost of #DongYanWedding shouldered by GMA Network as publicity investment!

I was correct with my gut feelings. My friendly butiki, who listens to everything inside the executive offices of GMA7, confirmed that it was the network that paid for everything (repeat, everything) in the so called 'royal wedding'. It was over Php100m on the wedding day alone, not including other expenses in the pre-nuptial activities. This is an eye-popping amount if it is just a wedding expense (as I am one of those who think that a 20m wedding is already stupid and insensitive in a Third World setting, even if one could afford a 500m one). Over 100m, however, is a justifiable amount, even cheap vis-a-vis the ROI, if it is accounted as marketing and advertising expense of a large corporation that regularly spends much more anyway in their ads and promos. If the network has been able to project that their signature stars are bigger than those from competition, then they would have been able to deliver the message that GMA7 is the bigger kid in the block (don't get me...
