Southeast Asians are all basically the same #ASEAN

Thais, Cambodians and all other SE. Asians are the same way. The mistake many foreigners make is they talk to a Filipino as they would talk to an American or a Hispanic. Because many Pinoys want to appear Western when they talk with Westerners.

When Westerners start speaking to Filipinos as they would to another Westerner (Germanic or Latin)– frankly, and speaking the truth, Filipinos react strangely- they get offended, and animosity results. It's important to remember that an average Filipino is first and foremost a SE Asian and should be approached as one. Smile, don't contradict, say only good things.

Just watched Day 2 of Senate hearing. Tables were turned once again on De Lima, without any effort it seems from the PNP or Duterte's senate allies. This must really be karma at work, or Duterte's magic is really strong. De Lima opened the session by saying she had asked ABS-CBN, Inquirer, and GMA 7 to submit their "kill list" databases and methodology for compiling the lists. However, only GMA 7 submitted. Strange. If those lists were being prepared properly, shouldn't these media groups have their databases and methodology on hand at any time? Or were those lists haphazardly done? Sandra Cam showed up in the middle of the hearing and sat directly behind De Lima. But Cam disappeared after a while, so viewers were not treated to scratching and hair-pulling. A group of women wearing dark glasses, masks, and headscarfs sat in a row on one area–I don't know why De Lima made them dress like jihadist terrorists, but they were her witnesses. Victims of drug-crazed addicts don't get 'trending' hashtags like #JusticeForKian

For the past few days I was doing research on a few things like I said. A new FB friend sent me a message telling me about a Dad in Dumaguete who lost his only daughter to a drug crazed addict who used 7 knives to stab her and a friend in Siquijor last April. I did the research, read up on everything and his recent "upheavals". I need not tell you all that I have no words to fully express how deeply this affects me because I am a single mom with a daughter too. His only daughter was even 3 - 4 months pregnant when she and her friend was mercilessly stabbed to death so many times by a drug addict. Nino Pinero is a professor in Siliman University. He is a coach. Given what I have read about this gentleman, he is a very compassionate man, a loving father and being a coach to youngsters - deeply loved by his students. Vice Ganda demonstrates he is still a man at heart after 'fat' swipe at Jessica Soho

Apparently you simply can't take the man out of Jose Marie Viceral (a.k.a. Vice Ganda) no matter how woman he looks. Jokes dished out by the popular Filipino comedian was simply un-womanly. As most women -- even certified babes -- who struggle with insecurities surrounding their physical appearance know at heart, jokes about weight hit home hard. But what really took the cake was Viceral's reportedly flippant regard for rape -- notably its particularly horrific flavour: gang rape . During his concert at the Araneta Coliseum, Vice Ganda made fun of Soho's weight and "joked that if Jessica Soho were a bold star in a movie, the scene would have to involve a 'gang rape,'" GMA News Online reported.
