Rappler CEO @MariaRessa suggests that Duterte was ORDERED to sing by Trump! 😮

In a tweet fielded by Rappler CEO Maria Ressa today, the causality reader could be led to believe that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte was ordered to sing by US President Donald Trump.



But was he really?

It seems Ressa is just being too quick to selectively interpret a common Filipino colloquialism that is no different to the way we use terms like "bossing" and "chief" to address peers or even subordinates in a tongue-in-cheek manner.

Ressa is most definitely grasping for straws here.

    Ressa is an endangered species! An individual who can multitask uniquely, can act as moron, stupid, idiot and possess an ugly face ass at the same time! Usually nature can balance things but she is uniquely ugly and brainless Moron at the same time!

I finally feel that I need to speak up. There has been much in the press lately about newly elected Philippine President Duterte. Most of what is said focuses on his policies toward the illegal drug problem, and his direct (to put it mildly) comments to other national leaders, particularly to US leaders. The world's press responds with concern, even alarm. In the Philippines, he is immensely popular. As an American who has lived here in the Philippines for 30+ years, I think I understand why.
