Extrajudicial Killings possibly supported by CIA covert ops 'endorsed' by Cory Aquino when she was president

Recall a 27th March 1987 Newsweek article, that reports a "critical Washington source" revealing how then Philippine President Cory Aquino authorised the United States' Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to "launch undercover political activities" against communist insurgents.

According to the same report, there were various local vigilante groups already taking matters into their own hands against these insurgents and that the Aquino government at the time seemed "to endorse the vigilantes".

The oh-so-noble journalists are at it again, this time, with Duterte’s Hitler comment. I am no Duterte fanatic. I criticize him more scathingly than anyone when his mouth is out of line. But this time, Duterte really didn’t say anything wrong. The real culprits behind the fuss over his Hitler comment are Karen Lema and Manuel Mogato, two Filipino reporters of the Reuters news agency, who wrote this article: “ Philippines’ Duterte likens himself to Hitler, wants to kill millions of drug addicts ”. Lema and Mogato are Filipinos. There’s no way they could have misunderstood what Duterte really meant in his speech. I watched the video and this is what the President said: “Hitler massacred 3 million Jews. There are 3 million drug addicts. I’d be happy to slaughter them. At least, if Germany had Hitler, the Philippines would have ….. my victims, all criminals, to finish a problem of my country, and save the next generation.” (See for yourself here . Only rich Filipinos have a problem with the Martial Law years

I'm part of the Millenial generation. I grew up actually hating the entire Marcos family precisely because of what was taught in elementary and high school. I looked up to Ninoy as a hero/martyr. Until I heard many first hand experiences from people who were actually alive during the Martial Law era – my college professors, my friends' parents, literally all of my co-workers so far who are in their 40s – 60s, farmers, taxi drivers, etc. They would all rather go back to the time of Marcos Sr's administration. The only people I hear crying like a bitch about Marcos Sr's "atrocities" are the rich, the powerful, and the elite because apparently things during the Marcos era didn't go their way. Unlike now where they can just pay their way to get whatever they want and no one ever tells them "no." I rarely ever see anyone from the middle class and below complain about Martial Law. Filipinos cannot build a strong nation because they are incapable of cooperating with one another

Filipinos are renowned for being utterly unable to co-operate. Even within families they cheat and abuse each other. Nobody trusts anybody else for a very good reason: most Filipinos are untrustworthy. They’ll stab you in the back if they think there’s some short-term gain in it. This is a hole that’s very hard to dig yourself out of. Nobody can offer to help his neighbor, or his neighborhood, or his country, because he knows that sooner or later one of two things will happen: he’ll be slapped down for failing to conform to social expectations, or he’ll be ripped off so often that he’ll just give up. So exactly how do you suppose a strong, independent nation is going to be built upon that? It’s impossible. Strong societies are strong because they learn to co-operate among themselves.
