    1. Don't believe the original poster. Ask any scholastican that you know. The students were given consent forms, and were asked if they wanted to participate in the rally. Those who were in the rally were there on their own free will.

    3. Oh, Come on! Give your own child a piece of paper with anything written on it, then ask her consent or agreement. She will sign 100x over if you require her/him to do so.

    4. It may have been unethical for the nuns to ask students to protest because they all hold a position of power over the children. However, this is not child abuse.

  2. I went to a Benedictine school in college. This is just sad. :-( I'd rather teach the children forgiveness rather than insisting on hatred and anger. The person is already dead. The Lord teaches us to forgive those who did us wrong. What is happening now is otherwise. Sad, just so sad.

    1. When i was in middle school at bene back in the mid 80s, we were forced to rally/protest along alabang hills road to oust ferdie marcos by the gay priests who commit sexual acts with little boys. Sad indeed

    2. It is true that there are a lot of hypocrites out there. I agree that it is unethical for people in positions of power (teacher, priest, etc) to ask/force their subordinates to do things for them. However, let's not demonize the gay community. It is a misconception that gay men are pedophiles (I'm sure there are too). However, most pedophiles are heterosexual males, not homosexuals... regardless of their preference in little girls or little boys.

  7. Deped should pass a memorandum prohibiting schools from mandating, instructing, forcing, sending dtudents who are minors to any political rally, unless they are accompanied by their parents. Rallies like this are not safe, violence might possibly erupt. Who will see to it that the children are safe should anything happen,? And who would be blamed? The govt? The parents,? The school? The police? The children themselves? Let the children mature, let them form their own perspectives by giving them facts untainted by biases, then let them decide for themselves whether to join rallies or not.

  9. I was there in the protest action. I dont need anyone's money (baka kayo pa bayaran ko!) Students joined to express their sentiments. They based their stand on lessons from history and analysis. That is a right guaranteed by the Constitution. Yung mga hakot ng mga Aquinos, Marcos at iba pang traditional politicians at parties ang bayad, may pakain pa at transpo.

I like Duterte. I dont like the Aquinos and Marcoses. The dichotomy is stupid. Both are two sides of the same rotten coin composed by elitists. The problems of Philippine society still lies in thr continuing class contradiction between few elite and empowered vs. the poor and disenfranchised.

  14. Block this blogspot account for misinformation. Here's an inside post from a Scholastican.

"Okay. Let me break it down for you. Those children were not forced to join the rally. They were given circulars if their parents allowed them to join or not HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT. "

Whenever I pass by Saint Scholastica, I always see their involvement in anti-injustice actions. Students VOLUNTEERING to be involved is nothing new. At this point in time, seeing the youth be involved in making a change and social awareness should be encouraged, and I'm happy that Saint Scholastica is giving their students the opportunity to do so.

Common sense everyone. Saint Scholastica is a very well respected school. Do you think that the parents of these students would be okay with having faculty members (in this case, the school nuns) drag their children out of school, unwillingly, and force them to protest? Let's say even one of these children's families is pro-marcos, don't you think that this would be a big scandal? Schools are not allowed to bring students out of campus without parental consent. Look back into your gradeschool/highschool days. Even just once, did the school bring you outside without consent from your parents through a circular or consent form? NO. A well respected school like Saint Scholastica would not tarnish their name for a rally.

The reason why this blog is so dangerous is because it's gaining fame at the expense of Saint Scholastica's involvement on anti injustices. This blog post can discourage the youth from being involved on social issues, and that's not okay. Apathy in the youth is a dangerous very dangerous thing.

To the original poster. If you have any journalistic integrity, or concern for the minds of the youth. Then you will take down this post.

If not, you contribute just a little bit more in the degregation of the Philippines.

    1. even if you gave discretion to the student whether they want to join or not, they shouldn't involve the little children in this kind of hatred! instead of teaching them FORGIVENESS AND HOW TO LOVE YOUR ENEMY, YOU ENCOURAGE THEM TO BE REBELIOUS!!! YOU ALL NUNS ARE HYPOCRITE!!!! JESUS SAID, THAT YOU MIGHT ALREADY FORGET, FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NO SIN, CAST THE FIRST STONE!!!! OR JESUS SAID, HOW MANY TIMES YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE YOUR ENEMY, 7X77X!!!! ALL THOSE NUNS AND BISHOPS AND PRIESTS WHO ARE HIDING IN THEIR HABITS ARE THE ONES WHO MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE, YOU ARE "FALSE PROPHETS" GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO FORGIVE!

    2. Even though Jesus forgave his enemies, he never kept silent about the wrong practices by the Jewish leaders. (ex Lk 11:37-53) This is why they had him crucified because he was a perceived threat to the social order. If not for all those peaceful protesters (including nuns and priests).. standing in front of tanks and soldiers, handing out flowers during the first people power revolution.. I have no doubt that the soldiers that were ordered by General Ver to shoot at the crowd would have hesitated. I do not hate Marcos. I admire him for being a brilliant politician. Unfortunately, who eventually became mad with power. However, I am wary of other Filipinos who want to forget the dark parts of our history. Those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

The Aquinos make the whole scripts...its simply for power then the whole things became shit...The Aquinos except Benigno Sr. have no reasons to lead the country only some idiot people put them in top position...so you expect that Philippine had a better life from them? say YES! then I'll be BULLSHIT you.

  16. Sa mga Katolikong Pilipino kapag nagdasal kayo ng Ama Namin, please omits this phrase "At patawarin Mo kami sa aming mga sala, Para nang pagpapatawad namin, Sa mga nagkakasala sa amin."

    then pray this prayer below.

Amen.

  18. Hindi nga dapat ito. Children this younh, Grade 3 or 4?, should be taught nationalism with critical thinking that is age-appropriate. In the classroom, they can discuas what the see and read on TV and in the news. Teach them respect for all, non-violence in settling conflicts and forgiveness with justice, using clear examples meaning ful to them, like "no to bullying."

  23. If I am one of the parents with these children, I will definitely sue the school. This is unethical in many ways! This is an abuse of the rights of the children, an abuse of institutional power. Consent to be granted only if it benefits for the wellbeing and safety for the children. This is bias and promote hatred. I am a Catholic Christian but nakakasuka ang mga 'alagad' ng Dios!
