2) Pro-poor is fighting the eradication of poverty. Obviously.

3) Excessive bureaucracy or red tape is the cause of the delays (e.g. Yolanda housing).

4) Opposition means to oppose only that which you do not agree with.

5) Holding one board meeting makes you the hardest working HUDCC chair. Ever.

6) Trekking, ribbon cutting, receiving awards, going for pictorials, and attending parties are achievements in housing and urban development. (One must be extremely shy and reticent to consider socializing work)

7) Talking about your knees is offensive but being touched on your shoulders, chin, hair and hands is not.

Posted by a certain Chloe Santiago on the Facebook GRP Community Group : Jose Rizal died in 1896 and Tagalog was declared the official language of the Philippine only in 1937. This can only mean that Rizal wasn't really talking about Tagalog when he made this statement: "He who does not love his own language is worse than an animal and smelly fish." Indeed. Who made the arbitrary directive to make the Tagalog dialect the "National Language" to begin with? Furthermore, why have a "National Language" when Filipinos are already proficient in the global lingua franca of commerce and scientific achievement?

I finally feel that I need to speak up. There has been much in the press lately about newly elected Philippine President Duterte. Most of what is said focuses on his policies toward the illegal drug problem, and his direct (to put it mildly) comments to other national leaders, particularly to US leaders. The world's press responds with concern, even alarm. In the Philippines, he is immensely popular. As an American who has lived here in the Philippines for 30+ years, I think I understand why. Allow me to explain. First of all, the facts. 1) Americans almost never take culture and other cultures' viewpoints and values into consideration. Almost never. Philippines remains laggard in mass transport due to Yellowtard shortsightedness

Simply put, if the Yellowtards didn't throw out the transport study done by JICA in 1976 which resulted in LRT 1 being built and operational in 1983, there would be more than 9 light rail lines running across the Metro by now. [In reference to PhilStar article Bus Rapid Transit ] But with Yellowtards being the prime example of dumb and dumber, flyovers were built instead which took out the capability to build light rail or bus rapid transit lines along the major thoroughfares in the Metro. Just look at how MRT 3 resembles a rollercoaster ride along EDSA from Pasay to Quezon City. The absence of a national land use plan also contributed to the present situation along with local government heads not implementing zoning rules strictly. The airport and seaports need to be moved out of the Metro. Jeepneys need to be phased out as they only contribute to traffic congestion.
