All #Filipinos want is a BMW or Mercedes Benz in their garage

Filipinos, inherently, have a cultural lack of unity and code. Rather than recognizing this, the country as a populace is too occupied wanting things they don't understand (as the article enlists, things like modernity and international standing). Jumping the gun much? These things are hard-earned, not merely handed to you. This pathetic sob story mentality and blaming game has outlasted its welcome.

What do Filipinos value in life? (Other than wanting a Western paycheck so they can buy a BMW or Mercedes. Why always THOSE two brands specifically?) Or, to be more upfront, who exactly are the Filipinos? Try getting a straight answer; you won't find any. Personally I only see two viable solutions: break up the country into multiple autonomous constituents, or force the country into unified submission through authoritarian reform.

Late night realizations (aka distractions while I'm supposed to be working): The day before yesterday, I posted a sarcastic status on Mocha Uson and the hypocrites who wanted to shut down her page. Because it wasn't straightfoward, so many of her supporters came at me and bashed me and messaged me because they thought I was calling for the suspension of Mocha's page.(Actually some people are still messaging me now because they don't get it still). It was overwhelming in volume and emotion--and I thought I was passionate, LOL. While there were many jolog posts, and yes death wishes that bordered on inane and stupid, although never seriously dangerous (a favorite refrain seemed to be ' Magbigti ka na lang ,' but never ' Aabangan kita at papatayin ') I couldn't help but compare the "hate" from her supporters with the hate I see from the anti Duterte forces. To repeat the question: How does blocking Roxas Boulevard (or any other major thoroughfare) make up for its economic costs? So far none have provided a detailed description of how exactly this charity event helps the victims of Yolanda/Haiyan or how they make up for the economic costs in any way. Good intentions are not a good answer and dodging the question by making flawed comparisons to other equally dubious religious events doesn’t cover it. Saying that we should all be grateful that it is showcasing unity instead of divisiveness is disingenuous at best. Also, you can’t blame people for being skeptical of your organization’s motives given your political history and organizational structure. The leader of the INC holds far more sway over its followers than the Pope does over Catholics, making it more like a cult than a bona fide religion. Opposition "activists" lack a logical reason for disliking Chief Justice Teresita De Castro

Other than that, the Yellowtards cannot seem to come up with any more objective reasons why they do not like De Castro. All the Yellowtards really want is for their preferred girl the now never-had-been-chief-justice Lourdes Sereno to be reinstated (or rather to have her appointment un-voided). But the fact is, De Castro, by all accounts, is the better-qualified magistrate. Just on the basic things, like her psych evaluation results and her compliance to the requirement for all public servants to have a complete record of Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs), De Castro is eminently qualified. Filipinos "nice" but lacking in common sense -- IT business manager

As someone whom invested heavily in the Philippines managing an IT company, I view your assumptions as narrow minded. I’ve given hundreds of Pinoys IQ tests as part of the selection process, the vast majority of these IT graduates ( the cream of the crap ) performed dismally. After two years operating we decided to close up and retain Singaporean Chinese staff and Brazilians. One staff member does the work of approximately 10 Pinoys. The biggest issue was a sheer lack of common sense, they can do black and white but seldom grey. Higher order thinking skills and abstract reasoning skills seemed to me missing, as they would perhaps with someone diagnosed with mild Asperger syndrome.
