The difference between being dumb and being stupid explained!

Stupidity and being dumb aren't the same thing. A person can be forgiven for being dumb because said person simply doesn't know any better. Being stupid, on the other hand, is about knowing, or at least having access to better information, but eschewing it altogether. Being stupid doesn't mean you know nothing. Indeed, you know SOMETHING and you know what is right and yet you choose what is wrong anyway. A good example of being stupid is seeing a door that says "pull" but you "push" anyway.

I understand Filipinos who are unfortunate in life but I'm not going to let misfortune be an excuse for bad behavior.

Just watched Day 2 of Senate hearing. Tables were turned once again on De Lima, without any effort it seems from the PNP or Duterte's senate allies. This must really be karma at work, or Duterte's magic is really strong. De Lima opened the session by saying she had asked ABS-CBN, Inquirer, and GMA 7 to submit their "kill list" databases and methodology for compiling the lists. However, only GMA 7 submitted. Strange. If those lists were being prepared properly, shouldn't these media groups have their databases and methodology on hand at any time? Or were those lists haphazardly done? Sandra Cam showed up in the middle of the hearing and sat directly behind De Lima. But Cam disappeared after a while, so viewers were not treated to scratching and hair-pulling. Victims of drug-crazed addicts don't get 'trending' hashtags like #JusticeForKian

For the past few days I was doing research on a few things like I said. A new FB friend sent me a message telling me about a Dad in Dumaguete who lost his only daughter to a drug crazed addict who used 7 knives to stab her and a friend in Siquijor last April. I did the research, read up on everything and his recent "upheavals". I need not tell you all that I have no words to fully express how deeply this affects me because I am a single mom with a daughter too. His only daughter was even 3 - 4 months pregnant when she and her friend was mercilessly stabbed to death so many times by a drug addict. Nino Pinero is a professor in Siliman University. He is a coach. Given what I have read about this gentleman, he is a very compassionate man, a loving father and being a coach to youngsters - deeply loved by his students. Only rich Filipinos have a problem with the Martial Law years

I'm part of the Millenial generation. I grew up actually hating the entire Marcos family precisely because of what was taught in elementary and high school. I looked up to Ninoy as a hero/martyr. Until I heard many first hand experiences from people who were actually alive during the Martial Law era – my college professors, my friends' parents, literally all of my co-workers so far who are in their 40s – 60s, farmers, taxi drivers, etc. They would all rather go back to the time of Marcos Sr's administration. The only people I hear crying like a bitch about Marcos Sr's "atrocities" are the rich, the powerful, and the elite because apparently things during the Marcos era didn't go their way. Unlike now where they can just pay their way to get whatever they want and no one ever tells them "no." I rarely ever see anyone from the middle class and below complain about Martial Law. Apparently you simply can't take the man out of Jose Marie Viceral (a.k.a. Vice Ganda) no matter how woman he looks. Jokes dished out by the popular Filipino comedian was simply un-womanly. As most women -- even certified babes -- who struggle with insecurities surrounding their physical appearance know at heart, jokes about weight hit home hard.
