The difference between being dumb and being stupid explained!

Stupidity and being dumb aren't the same thing. A person can be forgiven for being dumb because said person simply doesn't know any better. Being stupid, on the other hand, is about knowing, or at least having access to better information, but eschewing it altogether. Being stupid doesn't mean you know nothing. Indeed, you know SOMETHING and you know what is right and yet you choose what is wrong anyway. A good example of being stupid is seeing a door that says "pull" but you "push" anyway.

I understand Filipinos who are unfortunate in life but I'm not going to let misfortune be an excuse for bad behavior.

Daughter defends dad: Julia Abad testimonial highlights Ph #Kamaganak Inc culture

Julia Abad, chief of the Presidential Management Staff, and daughter of Budget Secretary Butch Abad recently posted on her Facebook page a statement in defence of her father. She writes that the public should not let allegations made by Janet Lim-Napoles "shake our belief that a reformist public service is possible." She goes on to state "I am Julia Abad, government employee, wife and mother. And I am proud to tell you, Butch Abad is my father." On the one hand, this sounds like a testament to the Abad family's commitment to a tradition of public service. 'Pieta' photographer Raffy Lerma accuses Philippine Police of murder! 😱

In his hurry to paint the Philippine police as an organisation of cold-blooded murderers, it seems "photojournalist" Raffy Lerma issued some serious allegations that he may not be able to prove. Bobi Tiglao writes in his Manila Times column today... It was the photographer Lerma who would write four days later, referring to the victim: “It was the third extra-judicial killing of suspected drug pushers that I covered on the graveyard shift last week.” Extra-judicial killing is defined as executions by the police or other state agents of suspected criminals without the sanction of a court. The way Netizens are once again in the middle of another one of their shrill outrage fad "activist" campaigns against the latest bogeyman mirrors the same collective frustration and feeling of helplessness that fuels the shameful and pointless brawls that have come to characterise Philippine basketball. Sure, the Inquirer caved to the request of Senate President Tito Sotto to remove articles about his involvement in the Pepsi Paloma rape case of the 1980s.
