Let me tell you just how STUPID the #Philippines is...

My sister-in-law who is 19, wanted to register as a first time voter..the COMELEC of course wanted to see an ID or her NSO issued birth certificate…since she graduated high school two years back, she has been staying with my family watching over my kids and of course her ID was of her senior year in high school…NOT ACCEPTABLE they say..get a birth certificate they say..no surprises at NSO either..NO ID NO BC..get a barangay clearance they say so they can issue a BC..off to the barangay hall…WTF..they will only issue clearance if you are a registered voter…

Spoke to a councilor and all he can say is sorry but that's the protocol…fuck that, you just lost 4 votes you moron…no wonder why people resort to get ID's from Recto…round in circles we go in this fucked up country..damn..i never wanted to use my visa to the US because i wanted to stay here hoping things will changes for the better..but with this latest incident, i am seriously considering leaving this STUPID place..

  1. That's not the half of it. Nay, that's just the tip of the garbage dump. They won't accept an identification card issued by this government unless it has a photo. Older SSS, PagIbig cards doesn't have room for it, so you try to get one, which is pretty much how everything else works here, all runarounds, no direct paths. Oh, I need to mention, it took us 6 years to get our voter's ID. And now they say it's not necessary to vote. Contradiction? Hell yeah.

  3. Yes, from my own experiences, I would say the Philippines is not only the red tape capital of the world, but has the dumbest systems and services known to man. Took me a trip to 3 cities just to get a copy of my kid's bc, waiting in hours long queues, paying double to go through the fast lane, and fir fucks sake you still need an inked footprint of your child?? 50 years behind the rest of the world I'm afraid, but what do you rxpect when the country's being run by dickheads?

  4. From Comelec's website ...

    "A person has to establish his (or her) identity upon filing his (or her) application. The following are valid identification documents:
    Employee’s identification card (ID), with the signature of the employer or authorized representative;
    Postal ID ;
    PWD Discount ID;
    Student’s ID or library card, signed by the school authority;
    Senior Citizen’s ID;
    Driver’s license;
    NBI clearance;
    Passport;
    SSS/GSIS ID;
    Integrated Bar of the Philippine (IBP) ID;
    License issued by the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC);
    Certificate of Confirmation issued by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) in case of members of ICCs or IPs; and
    Any other valid ID.
    In the absence of any of the above-mentioned identification documents, the applicant may be identified under oath by any registered voter of the precinct where he (or she) intends to be registered, or by any of his (or her) relatives within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity. "

    You can get a BC online... upon delivery, the courier will not require any ID as long as the owner of the BC has picture in it.

    1. I cannot edit... it should read " the courier will accept any ID as long as the owner of the BC has picture in it."
