Perhaps Pinoys' disrespectful treatment of gays is subconscious @indayevarona

Sometimes an outsiders's perspective serves us overseas Pinoys well. We are immersed in a culture here in Australia where observing and applying *general* respect and courtesy is more the rule than the exception and is deeply ingrained. Perhaps an "ancestral" memory of blanket disrespect, say, for gays and other minorities somehow gets past our conscious efforts to apply ourselves properly and can be detected by the purer minds of our kids.
