Mocha Uson does not need to be qualified to be a senator to run for senator in the Philippines

Why so shocked about the announced candidacy of Mocha Uson for Philippine senator? This is just democracy at work. Popularity wins in a democracy.

Mocha Uson's critics are better off focusing on convincing Filipino voters why they shouldn't vote for her rather than second-guessing the decision of PDP-Laban to field her as a senatorial candidate. The simple fact is, Uson is winnable. She has a huge social media following that could be used to influence the vote.

Qualifications? Since when did that matter in a Philippine election? Two Aquinos won the presidency not on the basis of qualifications but because of a pedigree platform. So that precedent had been set a long time ago by the very bloc of partisans who, today, are issuing the loudest howls of protest over Uson's candidacy.

If Filipinos are sold on the idea of being a democracy, they should let Mocha Uson run for senator and let the voters decide if she is meant to be a Philippine senator.

    If she runs, I will vote for her than voting for those Yellows....
    She'll be another allies of P-Dutertr in the Senate.

The things said about how people vote gets to be confusing because although most of them are correct some are not really exactly what they appear to be. Let me just focus on the other angle of the issue which is seldom talked about nor given more exposure so that we can widen the coverage of the discussion. When talking about electorate we have to differentiate the classification of voters. We have the masa and the middle class and higher class of the voting public. I'm not saying it's just the masa that is guilty for they will not be able to vote for those questionable candidates without the help of those who are more educated and influential than them. Leni Robredo is incapable of taking a position on CRITICAL national issues

The Philippines' "vice president" Leni Robredo is renowned for starting every statement with the phrase " ang sa akin lang naman " (in my humble opinion). As in something like this, for example... Ang sa akin lang naman, Martial Law in Mindanao won't be effective... Blah blah blah... And more of that to the same effect. What does Robredo's propose? Essentially nothing . The trouble with that is, Filipinos are all options but no roadmap . As such, Robredo mirrors the essence of the failure of the Philippine Opposition. They make a lot of noise about options (packaged as being "critical" of the administration) yet offer no pathway forward. It is hardly surprising why the Philippine Opposition led by the Yellowtards continues to fail.
