Final solution: The #Bangsamoro should just be given what they've long wished for: Independence

Let them have their independence. I suspect that once Filipino people live under Sharia Law and Islamic State dictates for a while; they will change their minds. No music, No TV, no representational art; only calligraphy of sacred sources, no bright colors, women covered from head to toe, no alcohol, no fiestas, no Christmas, no literature except for devotional texts, no education for women, education for young males consists of memorizing the Koran in Arabic, strict segregation of men and women, no religious freedom, no freedom of speech. mandatory prayer five times a day, starting at 4:30 in the morning, child brides, laughter and good times are discouraged as being decadent.

At the same time cut off ALL support from the Philippines. No resources, no electrical power, no conditional cash transfers for the poorest in the community, no subsidized rice, no road repair, no hospitals, no new school construction, no public housing. All the wealthy in that area will flee; thereby decimating the tax base.

How long do you think Filipinos will live under those circumstances?

  1. Are you kidding? Once they are granted independence Malaysia can creep in and provide Financial support then Annex them as part of their Federation. Go back in history and understand how the MNLF and MILF were formed? They created and funded these groups for the sole purpose of keeping the Philippines at bay so as they can continue to prosper and keep their hold on Sabah which gives them billions of revenue because of its oil reserves. Is it in Malaysia's best interest to help in the peace process? NO. they joined it so as they can keep close watch on what's happening and still keep control of the situation. If there's peace and prosperity in Mindanao and the Philippines become strong Militarily and Economically, we will again mount strong claims and push recapture of Sabah and Malaysia does not want that. Everytime peace is about to be reached new groups keep coming up. When MNLF signed the peace treaty the paved the creation of ARMM the MILF Abu Sayyaf sprouted, now the MILF is nearing settlement BIFF with Malaysian Terrorists support came out. What is the purpose of PNP-SAF's mission -capture Marwan a Malaysian Bomb expert. Who trained him, the MILF, MNLF, Abu Sayyaf and BIFF? Correct, the Malaysian Military funded by the Malaysian Government. Libya also used to Fund the Muslim rebels I dont know if they still do but I guarantee you the Malaysia continues to fund them.

  2. If Spain and the U.S., in spite of their superiority in men and arms, never succeeded to integrate the Muslim population of Mindanao during their occupation, how could it be possible for the Philippines to win against them? Eventually, there will always be tension and conflict between the separatists and the authorities until they obtain their independence.

Just look at the case of Sabah, which should have been part of the Philippines as a heritage of the Sultan of Sulu but through the wish of the Sabahans chose to join the Malaysian Federation in 1963 instead of the Philippines. In the course of its history, it has never known any internal conflicts ever since except in 2013 when Sultan Kiram III staged a standoff to make a claim on Sabah that only ended tragically to the death of a number of his followers and the locals.

Taking into account that there had never been any massacre in Sabah, why not grant the Muslims of Bangsamoro the right to self-government so that unnecessary killings in the future would cease completely?

The 2013 Lahad Datu standoff was a military conflict standoff that started on 11 February 2013 and ended on 24 March 2013, it arose after 235 militants, some of whom were armed, arrived by boats in Lahad Datu, Sabah, Malaysia from Simunul island, Tawi-Tawi in the southern Philippines on 11 February 2013. The group, calling themselves the "Royal Security Forces of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo", was sent by Jamalul Kiram III, one of the claimants to the throne of the Sultanate of Sulu. Kiram stated that their objective was to assert the unresolved territorial claim of the Philippines to eastern Sabah (the former North Borneo). Malaysian security forces surrounded the village of Tanduo in Lahad Datu where the group had gathered and after several weeks of negotiations and broken deadlines for the intruders to withdraw, security forces moved in and routed the Sulu militants.
