"He's just a boy!" - AFP Chief of Staff Catapang on seeing detained US Marine Joseph Scott #Pemberton

Apparently stunned by the youth of US Marine Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton, Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang agrees to a recommendation that another US soldier accompany Pemberton in detention "because the kid might consider suicide."

Pemberton, 19, is accused of killing Filipino transgender Jeffrey Laude, 26, who, on the basis of witness testimony, may have misrepresented himself as a woman on the night of the alleged crime. Said the witness, Mark Clarence "Barbie" Gelviro, testified before the Philippine Senate Foreign Relations Committee saying that "Pemberton thought we were real women."
