Comparing Singaporeans to Filipinos is an apples- to-oranges exercise #ASEAN

Filipinos educated at Ateneo, UP or Silliman are very impressive individuals. Those college educated in lesser institutions in the provinces are no better at English than some uneducated people i know in the Philippines. Again corruption allows many "colleges" to operate without meeting minimal proficiency requirement.

But I can tell you for certain the Singaporeans are not jealous of the Philippines with the exception of natural resources that are being squandered.

I am also pretty sure that Singaporeans don't need to work in other countries as OFW to support their families back home. It's like comparing apples and oranges… That's why this argument is so futile.

As for Dubai, Wikipedia says the following:

"The population of Dubai is 2,109,274. Approximately 85% of the expatriate population (and 71% of the emirate's total population) was Asian (chiefly Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan). About 3% of the total population of Dubai was categorized as "Western". In addition, 16% of the population (or 288,000 people) lived in collective labour accommodation were not identified by ethnicity or nationality, but were thought to be primarily Asian."

I don't see Singaporeans in the mix… maybe they are part of the 3% categorized as Western… I don't know. Again Singapore is not an economy driven by OFW remittances. Filipinos may hold some key positions but I am sure you are viewed as infidels that must tolerated (as are all non-muslims) so the the native Dubian… Dubanese.. whatever's can all play sultan…

If I had to choose between Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan, which makes up 71% of the OFW in Dubai, then I would choose the Philippines as being the best speakers of English.

I would not choose to setup a business in any of those countries due to rampant corruption at all levels.

I know there is corruption everywhere but at least in the US I am not expected to pay coffee money to a police man who pulls me over for a traffic infraction. They only stop me here for violations not to shake me down. Same for Singapore…

Bottom line is you would be hated less in a host country, as a foreigner, if you assimilate into a host country versus trying to change the country to fit your needs. And as I well know… if you don't like that then leave.

    Let this be a reminder among concerned. SG & PHL are good neighbors. 2 thoughts though, 1.) 'Don't be Big Headed' - Let's not get our heads over ourselves to think that they owe us their living. 2.) Respect.- Please remind ourselves that "When in Rome, do what Romans do". We have to respect their place when we're in their country.

    THAT WOULD MEAN NO CHANGE WHEN CHANGE IS NEEDED DESPERATELY. FILIPINO'S ARE HARD HEADED. THEY FLOCK TO ELSE WHERE TO LIVE BUT RESENT CHANGE RECOMMENDED BY A FOREIGNER. WE HELP THEM FINANCIALLY...MAYBE WE ARE WASTING ARE TIME. WORDS ARE USELESS. THEY WILL AND ARE LEARNING TO DIE.

Reporters Karen Lema and Manuel Mogato of @Reuters LIED about the Duterte "Hitler" quote

The oh-so-noble journalists are at it again, this time, with Duterte’s Hitler comment. I am no Duterte fanatic. I criticize him more scathingly than anyone when his mouth is out of line. But this time, Duterte really didn’t say anything wrong. The real culprits behind the fuss over his Hitler comment are Karen Lema and Manuel Mogato, two Filipino reporters of the Reuters news agency, who wrote this article: “ Philippines’ Duterte likens himself to Hitler, wants to kill millions of drug addicts ”. Lema and Mogato are Filipinos. There’s no way they could have misunderstood what Duterte really meant in his speech. I watched the video and this is what the President said: “Hitler massacred 3 million Jews. There are 3 million drug addicts. I’d be happy to slaughter them. At least, if Germany had Hitler, the Philippines would have ….. my victims, all criminals, to finish a problem of my country, and save the next generation.” (See for yourself here . Victims of drug-crazed addicts don't get 'trending' hashtags like #JusticeForKian

For the past few days I was doing research on a few things like I said. A new FB friend sent me a message telling me about a Dad in Dumaguete who lost his only daughter to a drug crazed addict who used 7 knives to stab her and a friend in Siquijor last April. I did the research, read up on everything and his recent "upheavals". I need not tell you all that I have no words to fully express how deeply this affects me because I am a single mom with a daughter too. His only daughter was even 3 - 4 months pregnant when she and her friend was mercilessly stabbed to death so many times by a drug addict. Nino Pinero is a professor in Siliman University. He is a coach. Given what I have read about this gentleman, he is a very compassionate man, a loving father and being a coach to youngsters - deeply loved by his students. And I would like to give him his privacy in as much as I can. 100% respect for this man. His recent "upheavals" came with the pronouncements
